A MOUNTAIN BIKE TOUR IN THE DOLOMITES WITH DOLOMITES HEART
The “Malgas Tour” in Falcade is a nice half-day enduro MTB tour in the beautiful Biois Valley, the heart of the Dolomites UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site: this means that it offers a little uphill and a lot of amusing and thrilling downhill. The ideal starting point is the hamlet of Molino in Falcade, where you can take advantage of the ski lifts of the Alpe Lusia – San Pellegrino ski area (moreover, from summer 2016, guests will have the occasion to use the brand-new 8-person cable car Falcade – Le Buse instead of the old 4-person chair lift) to reach Cima Predazzo, the second station of the lifts. In Cima Predazzo follow the dirt road that leads to Rifugio Laresei, then uphill always on the same dirt road on a slope which in winter is a ski piste of the Alpe Lusia San Pellegrino ski area. Now you’ll come across a crossroads: don’t take the path that leads to the top of the Col Margherita but follow instead the “Le Caviette” ski slope, a well-known ski slope among the many enthusiasts of the Alpe Lusia – San Pellegrino ski area. The way downhill has no particular difficulties but the terrain is uneven and slippery, so pay a bit of attention to the position of the wheels during the downhill ride.
